The reason I chose this visual to go in my Proposal Presentation is because I think it shows a pretty good picture of how many people now have health coverage over their Preexisting Conditions. Although it doesn't go back as far as I'm really looking for (which I will continue to do) it shows that not even 5 million people with Preexisting Conditions had health insurance until the new Health Reform (Affordable Care Act) that came about just this year. This supports my argument that I want to make about my topic because I'm supporting the Affordable Care Act of 2014 and how beneficial it has been to those with Preexisting Conditions. And how starting this year, the amount of people covered will only grow.

Having a pre-existing condition can
be a huge hassle when it comes to getting health coverage. A solution to fixing
this problem is to know a lot about what your current insurer offers. A lot of
people don’t know as much information on their health insurance as they really
should. So having that type of knowledge can be really helpful when it comes to
talking about your pre-existing condition with them. A second solution to
fixing this problem is to not be afraid to talk to your insurer about your
pre-existing condition. A lot of people don’t get coverage because they don’t
discuss their condition with the people who are going to be paying for it. In
the long run, talking with your insurance provider will help you out and things
will more than likely work in your favor. A third and final solution to fix
this problem is to make it known. I know when we found out about my older
sisters condition, at the time, not many people knew about it. As in, not many
insurance companies even knew it existed. But after about a year, they would
put information about covering this condition out in the public and more and
more people were able to start getting covered because of it.

The approach I am going to take with my argument of fact will be to clear up the misconception about how most people believe you can not get coverage just because you have a pre-existing medical condition. The new information I am going to provide is that there are certain insurance companies that have a specific policy just for people with pre-existing conditions.
My hypothesis for everyone to understand is the fact that it truley is not that hard to find an insurer to cover you, you just have to dig a little deeper than you really want to.

I honestly didn't learn too much from these articles. Having experience with insurance companies not covering those with pre-existing conditions, I actually have done a lot of research and I know about a good majority of it. I think there is always room to learn about more things and I am definitely open to that. I know that the sources that I used were not very helpful to me, but that doesn't mean others won't be.

My new topic for my annotated bibliography has changed to, "Why don't insurance companies cover pre existing conditions?" It's been pretty difficult to find sources that would be helpful to my topic because I'm having to look at more of a government official side of things.
Some key words that helped me in my search were:
- Pre existing
- Health insurance
I'm sure there are a lot of sources on my topic, I just haven't found them all yet.
I wasn't able to sort through a lot of sources only because I didn't find many.

The topic that I will be discussing is, "Should Sex Education Be Taught in Schools?" The reason I picked this topic is because being 18 years old, you don't exactly want to listen to your 10 year old cousin tell you about what she learned about sex. That isn't really a conversation anyone wants to have with someone so young.
Questions I have about my topic are:
- Is teaching young children sex education in schools appropriate?
- Why is it in every schools lesson plan?
- Do some children feel uncomfortable about learning it but are too afraid to tell their teacher?
Again, my topic is, "Should Sex Education Be Taught in Schools?" Would you feel comfortable with someone else teaching your very young child about sex? I know I would want to be the first person to talk to my daughter about, "the birds and the bees" and not have someone who thinks they know what their talking about to teach them that.

Blog Post #1
Well, my name is Amanda Berry and I grew up in the Dallas, Fort
Worth area my entire life. I really enjoy learning different things about the
body, especially the anatomy of the human body. I have always had an interest
in what the body can do internally as well as externally but the brain is the
main part that I want to study. That is mainly due to the fact that I was in a
car accident about 2 months ago and ended up getting a concussion from it. Most
people I have talked to that have had a concussion have told me that it goes
away quickly. But I do not see that happening for me any time soon. That is
because everyone’s brain is different and they all heal at different speeds. I
plan on using my biology degree to become an Occupational Therapist
specializing in the brain and pediatrics. I have always had a love for kids,
ever since I was one. Another thing I enjoy doing is actually being by myself.
I know that sounds weird but sometimes I just need a break from what is going
on out in the world and just have time to myself. I am definitely not one for adventure
or danger so that is why I tend to be alone the majority of the time. I tend to
pick friends who are daring and crazy and I just happen to not be like them.
Well that is enough about me, I hope this gave you a little insight on who I am!
Amanda
