Blog Post #2

The topic that I will be discussing is, "Should Sex Education Be Taught in Schools?" The reason I picked this topic is because being 18 years old, you don't exactly want to listen to your 10 year old cousin tell you about what she learned about sex. That isn't really a conversation anyone wants to have with someone so young.

Questions I have about my topic are:
- Is teaching young children sex education in schools appropriate?
- Why is it in every schools lesson plan?
- Do some children feel uncomfortable about learning it but are too afraid to tell their teacher?

Again, my topic is, "Should Sex Education Be Taught in Schools?" Would you feel comfortable with someone else teaching your very young child about sex? I know I would want to be the first person to talk to my daughter about, "the birds and the bees" and not have someone who thinks they know what their talking about to teach them that.

  1. Some other questions you might consider:
Why do some believe that sex education needs to begin in elementary school?
How is sex education taught differently at different grade levels?
